according to experts, at present, plastic drinking water buckets can be divided into four categories:

the first category is "white bucket", which refers to a bucket made of food grade brand-new polycarbonate (PC). Its color is light blue, light transmittance is good, and the barrel body is free of pitting impurities. It is a drinking water bucket that meets the standard requirements

the second category is called "miscellaneous barrels", which are PC barrels with other brand marks recycled from customers due to the need of enterprises to reduce raw material costs

the third category refers to plastic buckets produced from other raw materials, mainly water buckets made of PET resin (a very small amount of PVC resin is used), which have light blue, blue black, light white and other colors

the fourth category is the "black bucket" that caused an uproar. Its raw materials come from recycled old PC barrels, waste CDs or waste medical bottles, motorcycle accessories, etc. its sanitary performance is the most worrying, threatening people's health

At present, China is a large country in the manufacturing of drinking water buckets. Drinking buckets are mainly made of polycarbonate resin. In the early and middle 1990s, the price of raw materials once exceeded 50000 yuan/ton. Although the current price has fallen to 20000 yuan/ton, it still leads to PC price fluctuations in the international market for plastic barrel manufacturers

At present, three international multinational companies, Bayer of the United States, Teijin of Japan and general motors of the United States, are investing in polycarbonate projects in China. In addition to the above items, Bayer also includes the first phase of the company's $1.8 billion investment in Shanghai Caojing Chemical Industry Park, including the 200000 t/a polycarbonate and the supporting 200000 t/a bisphenol a project, which will be completed in 2005. Teijin company of Japan began to produce polycarbonate resin in Zhejiang Province in April, 2005. The company is a memorandum of joint venture with Jiaxing Zhapu Petrochemical Industrial Park to build a polycarbonate production enterprise with us $500million.
