Japan's Asahi Kasei Industrial Company began to recycle PET bottles by chemical methods
the company installed chemical recovery equipment in the polyester plant of Nobeoka in 1971 to reuse the waste yarn produced by the plant. In order to meet the needs of the market, the company has recently improved its equipment to recover eg (ethylene glycol) and DMT (dimethyl terephthalate) from nearly 20% of PET bottles that account for 2trillion yuan of the total output value of the national new material industry.
